The contract specifies a one (1) cent per hour and one-fourth (0.25) mills per mile increase for every two-tenths (0.2) point increase in the CPI-W Index in excess of 3.0% and at least totalling $0.05. Reaching an Index level of 288.022 in May 2022, the Index increased 16.

    An El Paso nurse was arrested and accused of threatening police officers by saying he "would give them fentanyl to end their lives." Officers arrested 30-year-old Steven Holguin on Monday. Holguin was at the Cincinnati Entertainment District on Saturday. While being taken to the regional command he made threats against the officers.

    Fatal Accidents Involving Roadway Workers-In-Charge and Lone Workers

    One of the statistics from the data reviewed by the FAMES Committee was the high incidence of fatalities that occurred to Roadway Workers-In-Charge (RWIC) and Lone Workers.

    For this report, RWICs are persons responsible for providing on-track safety for members of a work group. Lone workers are persons responsible for providing on-track safety for themselves while working alone.

    AMFA-SWA FMT Negotiations Update #1

    June 28, 2022 -- The Parties held a three-day bargaining session, June 21-23 at Company HQ, to commence Section 6 bargaining toward a successor collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for the FMT group. AMFA, at the outset of Day 1, passed a Section 6 opener document, which identified areas of the CBA AMFA intended to open for negotiation and which articles could carry forward to the new CBA without substantive changes. The Company did not deliver any similar document to AMFA. Following AMFA’s explanation of its openers, however, the Parties were able to tentatively agree that the following articles could remain “at book” during these negotiations and carry forward without substantive change to a new CBA...
