  • Eric Farmer

    Eric L. Farmer, 43, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Independence, MO.  He was born June 20, 1977 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Donald W. and Lori L. (Wilson) Farmer.

    Eric was a lifetime Kansas City area resident and had been employed with Delta Innovations Inc. for many years, he was proud to be a Journeyman and Leadman roofer, he was the former Owner and Operator of Farmer Roofing Company.  He was a member of Roofers Union Local #20, Raytown, MO.  Eric enjoyed participating in Mixed Martial Arts, and was one of the original members of the “Caveman Crew” Mixed Martial Arts Fighters, based out of Raytown, MO.

    Eric was married to Melissa (Meyer) Farmer for many years, she survives of Independence, MO, together they had three children; Tyler, Farmer, Independence, MO, Ryen Farmer, Lee’s Summit, MO, and Landen Farmer, Independence, MO, he is also survived by longtime companion, Lindsey Gilbert and her three children; Aiden, Mason, and Ryder, his mother, Lori Tweedy, of Blue Springs, MO, two brothers; Dustin Richardson and Austin Tweedy, two sisters; Janie Tweedy, and Taylor Eubank, his granddaughter, Avalynn Riczo, grandparents, Mary and Bob Farmer, his uncle, Ron Farmer, father-in-law, Doug Meyer, and numerous nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.  Eric had recently returned from Riverwalk Ranch in Texas, and was very proud of his sobriety, and his new outlook on life.

    Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO 64015, with memorial service to follow at 6:30 pm.  Memorial Contributions in Eric’s name can be made to Riverwalk Ranch, 6960 Dick Price Road, Mansfield, TX, 76063. Arrangements are entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs.  Memories of Eric and words of comfort for his family may be shared at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com.
