John J. Jones, 95, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born in Osage County, Kansas on February 10, 1927 the son of John Jones and Wilda Brown Jones. John was raised in Topeka. He moved to Arizona and returned to Topeka where he has lived the last 45 years. He worked for Vincent Roofing in Topeka over 30 years.
He will be remembered as a hard worker and someone who could build just about anything. He enjoyed hunting, old westerns, going to Topeka Steakhouse, drawing and making up songs.
He was married to Patricia Burel. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2001.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Barger of Jacksonville, N.C., John Jones of Topeka, Julie Sahadi of Topeka, and Klay Bayless of Topeka; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and he is survived by his dog, Barker.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Jones and a sister, Hazel Bozarth.
Graveside services will be held at Topeka Cemetery Garden Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Topeka Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, March 31 at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society.
